Aging Well

I used to be scared of getting old…

I would imagine the worst case scenario: not being able to be independent, people washing my bum, showering me…😔

I used to think

“I don’t want to live like that. What would my life be like if this really happens?”

In every birthday I would have feelings of dread instead of feelings of joy…

Especially because I was feeling in my body I was getting old…

and exhausted…

and often sick…

And the crazy thing was – I did nothing about it. I just accepted my physical symptoms and the fear.

The thought of aging being beautiful never even crossed my mind.

Until I had cancer…

and I was given one more shot at life, one more shot at living…

It turns out that aging doesn’t have to be defined like most of the world has…

A slow deterioration process where you loose your ability to enjoy life and do what you want.

Doctors call this quality of life. You hear this a lot when you have cancer.

I had more quality of life during cancer treatment than a lot of people I’ve spoken to in the last few years because I made a decision to build health despite of…

Aging can be a process of you getting better physically, mentally and emotionally depending on what you choose to do DAILY.

I refuse to prescribe to the victim mindset and overall “sick” mentality that surrounded the world of cancer.

I simply accepted full responsibility of what I could do instead of dwelling on the “why me” or “there is nothing I can do.”

I refuse to be defined by the challenge called “cancer” that was thrown at me and decided to create something better than ever and I did.

My book is the proof that you can see the positives in an unwanted and unexpected situation quickly instead of dwelling in the negativity

because when cancer knocks on your door, unfortunately your time is ticking.

If you don’t change anything in your life, recurrence becomes a real threat that you live with in your mind daily.

Today I post a video about how amazing life can be in your 40.

This is not to brag but to inspire YOU – women who want to open your bodies, mind and soul to believing you can also build health regardless of your age, circumstances and “unwanted” cards that life have thrown at you.

When you are healthy, there is a ripple effect in your whole entire life, in your relationships, in your work or business, in your happiness, in your mental health and in your ability to do more in life…

That is worth fighting for.
