My burnout came as a “gentle” Stage 3 Bowel Cancer diagnosisโ€ฆ

at 38 years old….

I remember the first chemo dose hitting me like some sort of illegal drug that you see on movies sending people to nirvanaโ€ฆ

Just this time:, it wasn’t a movie…

It was me, trying to keep myself alive by breathing…

I was holding on to my life tightly…

In the 5 days that I stayed in bed, only getting up to go to toilet and eatโ€ฆ

I reflect on how much I had abused my bodyโ€ฆ

15 years of binge drinkingโ€ฆ.

Several sleepless night (some from partying too much, others from worrying too much)

Skipping meals and not eating properly

Not exercising

Just pushingโ€ฆ.pushingโ€ฆpushingโ€ฆ.

If this resonates with you, I hope you take this advice from someone who has been on the bottom of the cliff:

๐—ฆ๐—ง๐—ข๐—ฃ ๐—”๐—•๐—จ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ก๐—š ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฅ ๐—•๐—ข๐——๐—ฌ

You body will take so muchโ€ฆ.and it wonโ€™t take the abuse forever.

The body doesnโ€™t forget the abuse and it will call you up on itโ€ฆ

Not because it is evil but because it is desperate.

Eating at least 3 meals per day

Sleeping 8 hours per night

Eating foods free of sugar and processed foods

Are some of the ways you can treat your body with respect and love

๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—ง ๐—š๐—ข ๐—ข๐—™ ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ๐—ฅ ๐—˜๐— ๐—ข๐—ง๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—•๐—”๐—š๐—š๐—”๐—š๐—˜

Carrying the anger, resentment, sadness or whatever baggage you are carrying is impacting on your business, clients and everyone around you.

You can pretend that it is not affecting you and your business but unfortunately that is not reality.What you cultivate inside will always come out in your actions and in who you are.

The quicker you acknowledge you need to let go of whatever is holding you back โ€“ and yes that will take courage.

The quicker you will see the results on your business as you wonโ€™t be dragging that heavy load on your shoulders to each meeting, each day, each decision etc

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž ๐—”๐—™๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ ๐—™๐—œ๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—ง

The myth of: you need to work 12-14 hours per day is starting to crumbleโ€ฆ

As people all over the world are getting more and more sick and diagnosed with chronic diseasesโ€ฆ.

As stress has become the number one cause of doctorโ€™s appointmentsโ€ฆ

Looking after yourself is not a privilege of the โ€œwealthyโ€โ€ฆ

Looking after yourself first is a ๐——๐—˜๐—–๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—ข๐—ก๐—Ÿ๐—ฌ ๐—ฌ๐—ข๐—จ ๐—–๐—”๐—ก ๐— ๐—”๐—ž๐—˜

Not when you get a chance…

Not when you make more money…

Not when you finish a project…

It needs to be NOW

I promised myself that I wasnโ€™t going to compromise on my health after cancerโ€ฆ

I wanted to live so badlyโ€ฆ

Yes live a long life for me, for my husband and kidsโ€ฆ

Since I started looking after myself first, my life has transformed…

I have been able to accomplish what I never thought I could in this life timeโ€ฆ.

Physically, emotionally and professionallyโ€ฆ.

The easiest thing you can do is to set up an easy morning routine before you turn your phone on:

Yes BEFORE YOU TURN YOUR PHONE ON

10-20 minutes gentle walk

5-10 minutes meditation or just taking some deep breaths

5 minutes drinking your tea and coffee just gazing

Now this is not only easy but it is free too.

So there is no excuse right?

Do this consistently for 1-2 weeks and see how you feel
